Giving Back To The Community

A big part of the Sun House mission is supporting our community by partnering with local non-profits to raise funds and awareness for great causes. Sun House donates our space, time, and resources so that 100% of proceeds from all events go directly to the non-profit.

HIIT With Alex Highsmith

In June 2024 we partnered with Wilmington’s own Alex Highsmith, linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers and founder of the Alex Highsmith Family Foundation. The 1st Annual HIIT w/ Alex Highsmith, led by Alex himself, is a group workout for both youth and adults with 100% of the funds raised going to help youth from underserved communities with access to sports, fitness, school supplies, and college scholarships.

Due to the success of the first event we’ll be offering separate Youth & Adult sessions for the 2025 event.

All 4 Cats - Kitten Yoga

Sun House has hosted has sold out sessions of kitten yoga to benefit All 4 Cats Rescue. Adults and children were welcomed into SHF to experience some relaxing yoga followed by the release of kittens for the guests to play with and love on.

AFC is an all-volunteer, no-kill cat/kitten rescue whose primary focus is working with the community to rescue stray cats, nursing them back to health, spay/neutering, and finding them permanent and loving homes. This event supported the care of countless cats/kittens who were being fostered then placed in loving homes.

Welcome Home Angel
Burpees For Bedrooms

Our very first event was Burpees For Bedrooms to benefit Welcome Home Angel, an organization that provides bedroom makeovers for children with chronic and physically debilitating illness or injury, creating a healthy and cheerful environment in which to live and recover.

This event was special in that the participants were kids who wanted to fund raise to help other kids in need. Each young person secured pledges for each burpee they performed, raising thousands of dollars to help renovate a young girls bedroom.
